THE ‘MAISON LEGRAND’ AND MUSÉUM This century-old heritage building is one of the area’s most remarkable gems with its second-empire architecture. It currently houses our municipal offices as well as the ‘Bonheur d’Occasion’ Library and a small museum that recalls both the building and the Legrand family history. Outside, there is a theme park relating local historical events. Information: 418-396-5225 / 494, route 132, Port-Daniel |

THE TRAIN STATION Built in 1908 by the Atlantic Quebec and Western Railway (AQ & W), the Port-Daniel train station is impressively large, boasting a sophisticated architecture. When compared to other stations on the Gaspé Coast, this century-old building is rather well located in the very heart of the municipality and close to Route 132, which circles the Gaspé Peninsula. |

THE RAILWAY TUNNEL The Railway tunnel measures 193 metres long by 73 metres high and is the only one of its kind still operating in Québec. It took two years to drill the tunnel (1905 -1907) and these works were sadly darkened by a premature dynamite explosion, which took the lives of eight people. At the top of the tunnel, belvederes offer breathtaking ocean views around the different areas of Port-Daniel. |

ST-PHILIP’S ANGLICAN CHURCH AND MICRO-MUSEUM St-Philip’s Anglican Church has preserved its early-century style much as when it was built in 1912. For the past few years, its micro-museum has been recounting the community history, particularly in relation to the Colborne shipwreck. One of the wreck’s survivors, Joseph Jones Acteson, and his descendants now lay in the adjacent cemetery. St Philip’s Anglican Church opens in the summer only, Monday to Friday, from 9 to 4. |
